Good God, Bad World
Some months back I drove past a village, a few weeks after intertribal crises. I came down from the vehicle, both hands in the air scanned by the red eyes of armed men. Bullet holes in deserted buildings told the stories I had not witnessed. I saw innocent kids peeping from windows with fear in their eyes and thought to myself, “What did they do deserve suffering?”
A Perfect Beginning
 The beginning of the Holy book reveals the goodness of a mighty deity. It says the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the earth. First He called out light, heavens, and earth bearing and yielding kind of fruits, beautiful waters and colourful animals followed and all were good.”
The triune God came together to make one like themselves a miniature, in might and mind. His breathing matched his artistic masterpiece and behold a majestic being came forth in the garb of Adam and Eve. I could imagine the satisfactory Joy in the heart of the creator in the words of the Holy scriptures “God saw all he hath made and behold it was very good.”
A perfect world with the blueprint of goodness and happiness, colours and flavours of nature all running and responding to one programming language called obedience with an ambience of Holiness. Until a weed was discovered, a deadly virus deadlier than malware or Covid was found in the operating system trying to gain unauthorized access and disrupt the peace and joy of the world.  Â
Sin whose presence causes chaos came in as a result of neglect of simple instructions on the part of man and that was the beginning of a bad world. however small it seemed, caused havoc that to date humanity and divinity still regrets. That was the beginning of the greatest controversy that ever ensued, the battle between good and evil, right and wrong, love and hate, maltreatment and retribution, blessings and curses and even life and death.
A Way of Escape
 Our Omniscient God whose wit and wisdom cannot be measured by any IQ perceived it earlier and quickly made provisions to eradicate the virus as soon as possible another obvious expression of his goodness and mercies “In that while we were yet sinners, yet infected with leprous and covid of sin, Christ the only begotten of God died to cleanse purify and save our leprous souls from its destructive powers.
Although our world has been polluted with sin, tinted with shades of sorrow and sadness, all around us evil looks to be triumphant over good but God Omnipotent has promised a paradise more beautiful, purer and brighter than Eden with streets overlayed with Gold and other precious stones that even might of human archaeology discover till kingdom comes. No gloom of affliction or sin no shadow of evil is there. In fact “Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither has it entered into the hearts of man what God has prepared for them that love him. You can trust that it’s not a mere fantasy because the one who has promised is the Almighty, with Him is no shadow of turning, He is not time-bound, He’s Eternal and his Goodness will surely triumph over evil forevermore.
We may not always have the answers here on this side of eternity. With the eyes of hope, we look forward to the day where there’ll be no more night, no more pain, no more sickness or suffering. All will be peace.
